Live from the Boileryard: Holler Choir, David Taylor and the Tallboys

Led by WNC natives Clint Roberts and Helena Rose, Holler Choir is an Asheville based string band outfit quickly breaking out in the Roots Music Scene. Both respected artists in their own right, Roberts and Rose’s musical union is a sound that is proving to be more than the sum of its parts. Their sound features tight vocal harmonies, driving clawhammer banjo energy, and melodic hooks reminiscent of 90’s Triple A radio hits.

David Taylor & The Tallboys is a fresh, twangy rocknroll/alt-country group born after several beers and an impromptu jam session on a Monday night in early 2019. David, already a solo singer-songwriter in the Charlotte music scene, enlisted the help of friends Gersh Godwin on bass and Jason Cline on lead guitar. Not long after that Matt Sloop joined the band to fill out the lineup on drums.
