ShagAtlanta was established in 1989 with the merger of two metropolitan Atlanta shag clubs, the North Atlanta Beach Club and the Atlanta Beach Club, the latter being one of the original six shag clubs signing the charter that formed the Association of Carolina Shag Clubs (A.C.S.C.) in 1984.
