Acworth-Cobb Dragon Boat Festival Inc., invites you to be part of a fun filled family event featuring Dragon Boat races with local cities, companies, and individuals. This exciting daylong celebration will support cancer patients and survivors in our community.

What’s a dragon boat race?

Imagine colorful 40 foot long boats with the head and tail of a dragon on each end, filled with 20 paddlers, a drummer, and steers person competing in a high energy race on the water. This athletic and cultural phenomenon originated over 2,000 years ago in Ancient China, and is presently the fastest growing sport in the world.

Last year's proceeds from the Acworth-Cobb Dragon Boat Race & Festival   benefited  Loving Arms Cancer Outreach .  Loving Arms, founded by two oncology nurses, provides Support Groups, Education, and Financial Assistance for cancer patients in seven northwestern metro counties.  They are in their 14th year in the Atlanta area and have received approximately $31,000 in 5 years from the festival.  Both  Acworth-Cobb Dragon Boat Festival, Inc. and Loving Arms  are 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations.

How Can You Help?

-Become an Event Sponsor to show your support for an excellent cancer outreach program.
-Form a Team to race at the Festival.
-Donate items that can be used as prizes for the teams that raise the most money, have the most spirit, etc.
