UltimaNota:
UltimaNota’s music is a blend of tropical rhythms with a modern twist. Founded in 2009 in Charlotte, North Carolina with members hailing from Venezuela, Ecuador, Mexico, El Salvador and Dominican Republic.
UltimaNota fuses new with old, English with Spanish, and traditional Latin rhythms with pop, funk, and blues guitars to create a fresh and modern sound. Influenced by a broad range of musical styles from Buena Vista Social Club to Bob Marley to Hector Lavoe, UltimaNota is known for creating covers with a uniquely characteristic twist.
On March 12, 2022, UltimaNota released a full-length album of 12 original songs that features local Latinx artists and highlights the diversity of Latin music styles created in Charlotte.
The album’s single, "Mi Sueño" which translates to "My Dream," a tribute to immigrants was nominated for "Best Music Video" at the 2022 Official Latino Film & Arts Festival in Palm Springs, CA.
