Latta Place, the former Huntersville plantation, caused quite a stir in 2021 when a Juneteenth event focusing on slave owners was planned there. o kickstart this new chapter, a Community Grounding Event is scheduled for April 6, from 11 am to 2 pm, at the David B. Waymer Recreation and Senior Center in Huntersville.
